Community guidelines
Held with care, not left unattended
Belong's community is anonymous and gently moderated. Every story, thread, and reply is reviewed before it appears publicly. These guidelines explain what that review looks for.
What belongs here
- ·Speaking honestly about a feeling, even a messy or unresolved one
- ·Sharing what helped you, without insisting it will help someone else
- ·Sitting with someone else's story instead of rushing to fix it
- ·Asking for space, and giving it when others ask
What doesn't
- ·Hate speech, harassment, or targeting another member
- ·Unsolicited medical, legal, or crisis-intervention advice
- ·Soliciting, advertising, or recruiting outside of Belong
- ·Sharing identifying details about yourself or others without consent
- ·Content that encourages self-harm, even if not intended that way
How moderation works
Every story, thread, and reply is queued for review before it's visible to anyone else. You'll always be able to see your own pending content. Content that raises a safety concern is prioritised and, where appropriate, met with a gentle note pointing toward our resources page.
There are no likes, follower counts, or public metrics on Belong. We designed it that way on purpose. This is a place to be heard, not performed for.
If something feels wrong
You can flag any post for review. Repeated or serious violations of these guidelines may result in content removal or account suspension. If you're worried about someone's immediate safety, please don't wait for moderation. Go straight to our resources page or local emergency services.
